Emergency Lighting testing

Emergency lighting allows residents and persons in a building to safely exit a building in the event of a power failure that can be caused in the event of a fire.

These lights are generally rated at 3hrs, meaning that in the event of power failure, the light will switch to it’s battery powered source within the fitting and remain illuminated for 3hrs.

Regular testing of these lights is recommended to ensure that all lights will illuminate in this event. These tests are usually performed monthly and then once a year a competent person should simulate a failure of the power and monitor the lights peformance of illumination over the rated period i.e. 3hrs.

We know premises management and compliancy is an important but challenging so we can assist by performing this regular tests in line with the recommendation of British Standards BS5266 and BS EN 50172.

Our testers will Simulate the mains failure and check every fitting for expected operation. A report is provided with any recommendation found to ensure that your lighting system is fully operational and compliant.
